The 2009 "MIDI" route is just over 100 miles with just over 3,500 metres of climbing. This new route allows riders with a range of abilities to participate. This also allows riders who are outside the time limit at lake Bala to continue and finish the challenge and receive a time for the MIDI route.

The event comes two weeks before the European events including the Etape du Tour and the Marmotte. Ideal preparation. This is toughest and most challenging cyclosportive in the United Kingdom, as rated by Cyclosport.org, the home of UK Cyclosportives since 2003.

The "MIDI" routes takes in all of these famous climbs: The Shelf, Horse Shoe Pass, Worlds End, Moel Arthur, The Cerrig "Road to Hell", the "Stingers" and the mountain top finish of Bwlch Penbarass.
